Once upon a time...
Launched April 1983, Disney Channel began with the basic family values, shows and movies.
The Original Disney Channel (1983-1997) aired quality family series such as, 'Still the Beaver', 'The Baby-sitters Club', 'Five Mile Creek', 'Flash Forward' , 'Adventures in Wondeland' , 'Vault Disney' and more. It also aired various specials featuring some of the greatest legends like Aretha Franklin.

And in 2001 (or 2002) Disney decided to ditch the 'Zoogs', Probably because they realized it annoyed both old & new Disney Channel Viewers. |

In 1997, a new "fresh" more tween (pre-teen, 12 year olds) programming took hold.. Smart Guy, Bug Juice, Jett Jackons, So Weird and more. It was called 'Zoog Disney'. It was supposed to connect Disney Channel viewers and the computer. Basicly, kids who interact with games and such could see their screen name on tv!

From 2001 through 2002 ratings grew higher and Disney was about 90% basic, (meaning cable subscribers wouldn't have to pay extra) cable programming. and the 'Tween's started watching the 'newer' , 'hip' shows like, Even Stevens, Kim Possible, Lizzie McGuire and others. Leading to the disintegration of 'Vault Disney' and any other classic disney programming. Which led long-time viewers to send complaints and basicly stop watching the channel altogether.

Let's not forget the reble long time viewers who bash the channel now.. Are they so upset about the programing being replaced they have to bash and hate anything that is Disney Channel? Well... Like i said..Who could blame them?

..And yet somewhere between this, the 'Tween' crowd seem to have the idea that Disney was always like this and have no respect for classic programing, or at least the majority doesn't. But, who could blame them? I mean they started watching when Disney itself turned it's back on the classics and taught it's new viewers...To...Embrace their fellow tween?

But...All in all from the family programing of the 80's and 90's to the Tween Programing in the 2k's Disney has been able to stay mostly decent for children. Now you can see Disney Channel almost everywhere in the world. Disney Channel can be watched on all 5 continents in several languages. World famous nowadays are Art Attack, Zapping Zone, Lizzie McGuire and Playhouse Disney.
